Application confirmation

* After submitting an application for a domain name, it is ONLY necessary to confirm that you wish to proceed with the application if your application matches an IP Claim form that was submitted during Step 1 (IP Claim Form).

You will receive an e-mail from the Registry (NeuLevel) if it necessary to confirm your application. This message will include the necessary information to go about it.

Note: Failure to confirm an application that has been matched against an IP Claim will by default indicate that the applicant does not wish to proceed with the application and therefore not include it in the selection process.

* We have requested that the Registry also send an e-mail to applicants that do not have to confirm their application to inform of that fact. That way everyone submitting an application will know what is required of them.

* If you have any doubt whether you need to confirm your application, you can speak with your registrar who will be able to check what steps are necessary for a given application.

IP Claimants

* After 1 October 2001 all IP Claimants will receive an e-mail from the Registry (NeuLevel) informing them if a third party has been awarded the name they submitted a claim for and inform them what are the necessary steps to use the STOP resolution service.

* Following the selection process (end of September), if there are multiple IP Claimants for the same name, the claimants will be placed in order using a randomised process. This order will determine who can use the STOP process first. A claimant has 20 days to invoke STOP before the opportunity passes to the next claimant. If the first claimant fails to be awarded the domain name the then current registrant (defendant) cannot be further challenged by other claimants using the STOP process. However, the UDRP avenue will always be open to a party wishing to contest the right to a domain name.

* A challenger using the STOP process must prove that they have legitimate rights to the domain name, the registrant has no legitimate rights, prove the registrant registered or used the name in bad faith.

.INFO update

* Sunrise period for IP owners will commence 26 June 2001 for approximately one month. However, due to the selection process employed by the Registry (Afilias) it is highly recommended that IP owners submit their applications within the first 7 days.

* IP holders will have to submit the following additional details:

1. The ASCII characters composing the trademark or service mark.
2. The date the trademark/service mark was issued.
3. The country where the trademark was registered.
4. The trademark/service mark number.

* The general landrush period open to anyone will commence approximately mid-August for approximately 18 days.

IP Claim Form applications will be processed in a series of rounds during the Sunrise and Landrush periods. At the end of each round, applications will be selected.

IP holders will be able to use a Sunrise Challenge process to dispute registrations. This will be provided by WIPO (the World Intellectual Property Organisation) for a standard fee of $295.
