.in (India) reaches 100,000 registrations landmark
The Indian country-code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) has passed the
100,000 registrations mark in just over 90 days since launch.
According to recent figures, 62% of registrants of .in have been
Indian, 11% German, 10% from the United States and 3% from the UK.

.vn (Vietnam) developments
It is expected that those who took part in the
initial sunrise period for second-level .vn domains at the beginning of the year will
find out whether they were successful around 1st June, the secured
domains going live about the same time. A further 'public' sunrise period for trademark holders is
now scheduled for launch in June, lasting 45 days, with public
availability following that.
Flurry of papal domain registrations
As recently reported in online media, there have been a number of
domain registrations connected with the inauguration of the new
pope, Joseph Ratzinger, or to give his chosen papal name, Benedict
XVI. Rogers Cadenhead registered BenedictXVI.com plus five other
possibilities including ClementXV.com and InnocentXIV.com at the
start of the month, reckoning correctly that one of the names would
be the actual one chosen by the new pope. He is currently
redirecting BenedictXVI.com to his own web-log (or 'blog') and says
that he has been receiving 100 hits per minute since the
announcement of the name.
Other speculators have also registered domains connected with the
new pope and some are already for sale on auction sites.
